New Classes Added – March 2015

Hi All,
From March 2015 we are delighted to announce we are adding extra hours to training to assist club development. The primary focus of these additional hours is to break down the intermediate / advanced students further to allow intermediates get greater attention, an give advanced students more latitude to do their own training / working with team mates before the advanced session begins.

There will be no change to beginner classes. Intermediate / advanced grades will have the possibility of attending each others sessions for extra training.
See attached image.
Each typical night will now have 3 hours worth of training !!
Monday Night Sparring

7-8 Beginners
Typically White – Yellow belts beginners only. We welcome any intermediate students who wish to come along early to assist & be a visual aid to beginners.
8-9 Intermediate
Typically Green – Blue intermediate grades / recreational higher grades and beginner adults. Advanced grades requested to attend and to assist where possible.
9-10 – Advanced
Added Extra Class – We have moved red-black to a new slot to enable the intermediates get some more focused time and allow the advanced get more specific training. We recommend that all advanced students attend the 8-9 hour also to do their own group training & work-shopping at back of class. If 9-10 is too late for any students, please attend intermediate class. As the leisure center closes at 10, this class will finish a few minutes early approx 9.50, so we strongly recommend all advanced students get full use out of the 8-9 slot also and are 100% warm for class at 9pm
***** Note1:  The above classes are not necessarily belt color specific. It is possible to have an advanced green belt and intermediate black belt, etc. Students please choose to attend the class which is more specific to their needs.
***** Note 2:  SDTKD tried to get the 6-7 slot on Mondays to expand earlier rather than later, however the footballers are long term residents of that time.
Technical Thursdays

6-7 Beginners
Typically White – Yellow belts beginners only. We welcome any intermediate students who wish to come along early to assist & be a visual aid to beginners.
7-9 Intermediate – Advanced [2 hours]
Green belts & above technical training. [And beginner adults] We have noticed many of our students ‘disappear’ when we do extra poomsae [patterns] on Thursdays as some are too tired and perhaps don’t have same focus on poomsae. With this in mind, all Thursday night sessions will now commence with poomsae practice as a warm up before technical pad kicking classes. Black belts please note we also hope to use this session for coach development, with black belts been given roles & responsibilities during parts of this session. [Any sport taekwondo practitioners who dont do poomsae please note there may be a period during this class approx 8-8.30 where you will be doing own training down the back of class]
Facebook Fridays

7-8 Advanced Academy Sparring
These are extra sessions that will be put on when possible based on coaches availability. Classes geared towards students who wish to participate in upcoming sparring competitions. Invitations will be sent to students during the week on www.teamer.net / notifications issued on Facebook.
———————————————————————————————–
We hope all members are able to strongly benefit from the minor reshuffle of times. In 2008 we started off with just 2 hours per week in TLC, now we have grown the hours to 6-7 per week to ensure our players get best attention possible.
All members are requested to use the hall times to their greatest benefit. Intermediate – advanced students should do as much additional training as possible in hall during other classes, just dont disturb the ongoing class!
Black belts….! 3 hours coaching a night is tough!! Please get involved with support coaching where possible to develop your own Taekwondo Coaching Path.
Schedule subject to change. If we find classes dont work out or gather intended momentum we may switch back!
Keep up the Good Work All,
Coach
